Since day one
A small oven, a big obsession with dough
Wood-fired oven pizza, made by hand in Clifton.
Our story
It started with one stubborn recipe
Buru's began the way most good food stories do — with someone refusing to settle. Years of home baking, dozens of failed dough batches and a genuine fixation on getting that soft, blistered Neapolitan crust right in a Karachi kitchen.
When the wood-fired oven finally arrived in Block 8 Clifton, the recipe was ready: a slow-fermented dough with a 24-hour rest, stretched by hand, and baked in roughly ninety seconds at 450°C. That's where the leopard spotting, the chew and the flavour come from.
Today we're a small neighbourhood pizzeria with a short, focused menu — signature pies like Tuscan Beef and Beef Chimichurri sitting next to the classics we'd never take off the board.

What we stand for
Passion, then everything else
Handmade, every single day
Dough is mixed, balled and rested by hand each morning. Nothing is pressed by machine, nothing is frozen.
Fresh ingredients only
Fior di latte, house-blended cheeses, chimichurri whisked in-house, basil and rocket picked over by hand.
Quality we won't compromise
If a pizza doesn't come out of the oven the way we'd serve our own family, it doesn't leave the kitchen.
A family-friendly table
Small, warm and loud in the best way — a neighbourhood spot where kids and grandparents both feel at home.
In the kitchen
Meet the people at the peel
Our kitchen is open enough that you'll see it happen: dough stretched on marble, sauce ladled in one turn of the wrist, the peel sliding into the flame. Our pizzaiolos work in pairs so nothing sits waiting — the moment a pie comes out, it's boxed or plated.
- · 24-hour cold-fermented dough, balled fresh daily
- · Sauce and chimichurri made in-house, no shortcuts
- · Every pizza checked at the peel before it leaves
